Are you looking for a new adventure in North Tacoma? In this video Realtor Jenny Wetzel brings you along to five of her favorite places throughout the neighborhood. Whether you’re a North Tacoma local or new to the area, this list has something for everyone. Here are Five Favorite Places in North Tacoma:
#1: Point Defiance
Spend the day (or a few!) exploring all that Point Defiance has to offer. Point Defiance is the only combined zoo and aquarium in the Northwest! Bring the whole family and have fun seeing wildlife up close plus the beautiful flower gardens. There’s always something new and exciting happening, so be sure to check out their events page on the Point Defiance website here.
#2: Downtown Ruston
Shopping, dining and entertainment: that’s what Downtown Ruston brings you! Many places have been operating for decades. Stop by The Antique Sandwich Co. for a delicious, homestyle lunch or a sweet treat from their bakery- you won’t be disappointed!
#3: Central Co-Op
Stop by the Central Co-Op and buy fresh, local groceries from the Seattle-Tacoma community owned natural grocery store. Since 1978 Central Co-op has provided fresh, organic, bulk, and local foods (+ supplements) to local shoppers. Shopping online doesn’t mean you can’t shop small; check out their online ordering options here!
#4: Ruston Way Waterfront
The two mile stretch connecting downtown Tacoma to Point Defiance Park is the Ruston Way Waterfront. You’ll love the coastal road that offers a paved walking trail and breathtaking views of the South Puget Sound. Looking for a place to dine on the water? This is it!
#5: Dune Peninsula
The new extension from Point Defiance Park will surely impress! There is plenty of space to walk, bike or play on the 11 acre grounds. Soak in the views of the Commencement Bay and Mount Rainier.
